Hello everyone! It was really cold during the recent three-day weekends,
wasn’t it? It seems like the COVID and the flu are still going around, so please be careful when you go out!
That being said, when it’s a long weekend, you want to go out drinking, right?
I recently had a drunken night in Monzen-Nakacho, so let me introduce you the snack bars I went!
ANd just like the title says, “Ranking of the snack bars that are great to have when you’re drinking.”

🍶 “Dagashiba” found in Monzen-Nakacho

Few weeks ago I went to “Music & Dagashi Bar Jam” in Monzen-Nakacho for the first time!
I discovered it while walking along Oyokogawa River. It was a Sunday, so not many shops were open, but I was glad it was open!
As the name of the shop suggests, the walls of the shop are lined with nostalgic snacks, making you feel like you’ve traveled back in time to your childhood♪
Although it’s an all-you-can-eat style, they ask you to “only take as much as you can eat properly.” There are a variety of snacks familiar from the past, such as milk boro, yogurt, dondon-yaki, and yocchan squid!
Even as adults, we can’t help but reach for these kinds of snacks.

This shop has an impressive amount of snacks, but the owner is also a very calm and considerate person who takes great care of his customers.

🍘 Snacks and sweets go great together!

There are quite a few snack bars that sell cheap snacks and rice crackers! One of my favorites is “Kikka in shimbashi.
It’s comforting to have some snacks to snack on while drinking. Salty or slightly sweet/salty snacks can be a real hit when you’re drinking. So, I’m going to announce a ranking of snacks that are nice to have when drinking at a snack bar !

🏆Top 3 snacks to go with your drink!

🥇 1st place: Cabbage Taro
This is the undisputed No. 1 ! I’ve always loved the crispy texture and the exquisite flavor of the sauce. But be careful when you’re on a date. If you get any green seaweed on your teeth, you lose 10 points (lol). The only ones who are allowed to have a ‘ohaguro’ smile are Shimura Ken’s characters! (This is purely my opinion.)

🥈 2nd place: Baby Star
The individual ones are good, but I prefer the ones that are stuck together! In particular, the Okinawa-exclusive island chili pepper flavor is spicy and addictive. It makes you want to drink more and more.

🥉 3rd place: Yuki no Yado
I recently had it at an event for the first time in a while and it’s become my new fave. Isn’t that sweet and salty flavor the best? It goes well with tea, and surprisingly, it also pairs well with Irish whiskey.
