In the last Vol. 1, I introduced the background of this series.
But that was just the prologue! The real fun starts from here, and it’s going to be a weekly journey! You see, my environment has been changing rapidly recently, leading to many new encounters and challenges. I’d love to introduce myself, including all of that 🤩
I hope you’ll join me on this journey!

Nice to meet you, I’m Nana ✊🏻✌🏻✋🏻
At “Snack Yokocho,” I primarily work as a guide for bar-hopping and walking tours, as well as serving as the exclusive hostess during events. I’ve always been described as having a “vitality for life,” bursting with energy and social skills, but the truth is, I’m a bit shy… a somewhat complicated personality (haha). As a guide, I not only try to liven things up, but also make it a point to have meaningful conversations with each guest, promoting cross-cultural exchanges.
When I’m hosting events, I throw caution to the wind and sing my go-to song, “Blue Coral Reef,” all night long (haha). I’m hoping to expand my repertoire and the range of generations I cater to in the future 🎤
A Tour Guide for “Snack Yokocho”⁉
At “Snack Yokocho,” we’ve been running tours introducing snack bars, which have seen a resurgence in popularity recently!
There are quite a few people who say, “I’ve heard of snack bars, but I’ve never been to one,” or “There’s one near me, but it’s hard to walk in.” Despite their proximity, many have never visited. Additionally, with younger generations drinking less alcohol and avoiding social drinking events, there are many who are unfamiliar with places like snack bars.
We also have many international visitors who often ask, “I’ve been to Japanese restaurants and izakayas, but is there somewhere new to explore?” or “We’d love to connect with locals in a bar we can’t find or enter on our own!”
For those who’ve never been, can’t go alone, or can’t find such places on their own—leave it to us! At “Snack Yokocho,” we introduce snack bars (membership-based) primarily in the heart of Tokyo. We also provide a space for guests to interact with the beloved mama-san and master who run these cherished snack bars, all while sharing some basic rules of these establishments 😌
Once you visit, you’ll be hooked. Let’s discover that third place together, where you’ll feel like you’ve come home!
Exclusive Hostess at Events⁉
In addition to tours, we also set up snack bars at various events! We’re working hard to expand our presence nationwide, with pop-ups at places like Lucua in Osaka and Garden Place in Shinagawa.
During these events, I get to stand in as the mama-san for the pop-up snack bars♡ As for my personal aspirations, I dream of owning my own place in the near future, so I’m using these opportunities to learn how to create and embody the snack bar atmosphere wherever I go, while enjoying fun times with many wonderful customers♪
I’m especially happy that these events allow me to connect with generations who don’t usually visit snack bars, sparking their interest in the experience! I’m also hoping to gradually increase the number of regulars who attend these events time and again ☺️
Continuing Challenges on the Horizon!
Actually, on Wednesday, August 28th, we’ll be holding a Chinese cuisine × snack bar event near Ningyocho Station 👏🏻 If this article has piqued your interest, please feel free to DM us!
There are still many more events, collaborations, and new endeavors on the way. I’ll keep working hard so we can continue to grow together, and I look forward to your continued support!
