Hello, good evening~🌃
This is just a diary. Last weekend, I went to the “Bettara Market” held around Kodenmacho Station! The train izakaya “Kiha,” which we also use for our snack tours , set up a stall there.

What is Bettara Market? A traditional autumn event that has continued since the Edo period.
Bettara Market is a traditional autumn festival held every year on October 19th and 20th in the Nihonbashi Odenmacho area of Tokyo. It is held at the same time as the annual festival of the local shrine, Takada Ebisu Shrine, and about 300 food stalls were lined up! I went in the evening, so the lanterns were lit and it was a festival with an old-fashioned feel~😊 There were not only local people but also many tourists visiting Japan!
Usually, you take a picture of the front entrance, right? but I didn’t…
What is Bettara Pickle?
Among the stalls, the most common item was “Bettara Pickles,” which is also the name of the festival. Yes, that’s right, it’s a specialty that has been around since the Edo period, hence the name of Bettara Market! “Bettara Pickles” are pickled radishes that have been sweetly pickled, and are a local specialty that has been loved since the Edo period. Its distinctive sweetness and sticky texture means that it sticks to your hands, hence the name “Bettara Pickles.” During the festival, Bettara Pickles were sold at many stalls, and they could be said to be the symbol of Bettara Market ♪
There are a lot of shops selling Bettara-zuke! They even sell them in small bags!
Among them, the train Izakaya Kiha was open.
Rather than just encountering them, I had heard that they were having a stall beforehand, so I just popped in to check it out❣️ The shop had a wide selection of drinks and foods, including spicy frankfurters, sake, hot sake, tequila and more! It was my first time seeing tequila on a food stall, and I was surprised to see a tequila Ferris wheel🤣
We had hot sake and frankfurters~♡ It had been a while since I last saw the assistant manager, so I was happy! I’ll come back to the store again♪
After this, I went inside for a little while and tried to attract customers, but it was no use!! Sorry!
