Solo Drinks & Self-Pouring Sake with Japanese Enka!
Hey, everyone in Japan! Cheers to all your hard work 🍺
This is Kazu, the Snack Tour coordinator here at Snack Yokocho. Today, I’d love to share highlights from the Osaka Snack Tour we hosted earlier this month.
On Sunday, October 13th, we set up a “Snack Yokocho” outdoor event as part of the Expo Open Street, an event celebrating six months until the Osaka-Kansai Expo! Right outside JR Osaka Station, we created a pop-up with three snack bars – and got special permission to serve alcohol right on the station premises!
The event was a huge success, attracting visitors of all ages and backgrounds – including local residents, families, and international guests.
Osaka Snack Night Tour Highlights
As part of the event, we also launched an Osaka Snack Night Tour! Starting at Osaka Station, we guided guests on a journey through the bustling city streets, leading to two unique snack bars along the way.
Three Osaka locals joined this tour, and it was their first time entering a snack bar! They enjoyed discovering hidden features of Osaka, like ventilation towers, shrines, and shopping streets that often go unnoticed. Each guest got the unforgettable experience of opening a “Members Only” door and stepping into a snack bar for the first time.
Discovering the Snack Bar Culture
Each bar had its own distinct atmosphere, and guests loved seeing the different layouts and decor styles. From retro vibes to unexpected spacious interiors, each bar offered its own surprises. Everyone left with a newfound appreciation for the snack bar culture, even saying they’d feel comfortable visiting on their own next time!
